The Strand now offers guided tours of the historic theatre and event rental space. Participants will have the opportunity to learn about the history of the theatre dating back to the 1930s, recent renovation efforts and fun facts about the theatre business. The tour ends on the rooftop Cobb Terrace with an excellent view of Marietta Square and Kennesaw Mountain.
Tours are offered Monday and Friday mornings at 10am. Tickets are $5 and may be purchased at the box office.

The Aviation Wing of Marietta Museum of History presents "Hearts for Heroes"
"Hearts for Heroes" will support the Aviation Wing of the Marietta Museum of History, while recognizing Cobb County's unique military history and heritage. "Hearts for Heroes" will be held on Thursday night, the 11th of February, 2010 at the Strand Theater, and will begin with a pre-concert from 6:30-7:00 followed by the main event from 7:00-9:00 pm. Among the featured presenters are Dennis Haysbert(of TV show "The Unit" fame), and retired US Army Command Master Sergent Eric Haney (author of "Inside Delta Force"). The evening will tell the fascinating story that our military, and military aviation in particular, has played in the development of North Georgia. Former Governor and Mrs. Roy Barnes will host an after event at their home on Whitlock Avenue. Tickets to the main event are $30, and $100 to include the after event. "Hearts for Heroes" is a fabulous opportunity to have fun while doing good. See you there!

Cobb County Humane Society: "Hearts and Dreams 2010"
The Humane Society of Cobb County will have our second annual winter variety show, “Hearts and Dreams 2010”, Saturday, February 13, 2010 at the Earl Smith Strand Theatre on the historic square in downtown Marietta. This year’s theme will be “Life Is A Circus”.
This gala event, black tie optional, will feature several local individuals and groups donating their time and talent to provide entertainment, including the Lyric Theatre, Pebblebrook School for the Performing Arts, magician Joe Turner, and more. Guests will enjoy open bar and heavy appetizers during the social hour which begins at 7 PM, the stage show starts at 8 PM.
