Dave was the first Grand Champion of the Georgia State BBQ Championship and since that time has accumulated numerous awards up and down the East Coast.

Dave was most recently honored in the 2009/2010 Zagat Survey. For the second year running, Dave Poe's BBQ earned the highest Zagat rating of "Extraordinary to Perfection" and best BBQ in Atlanta. Access Atlanta recently voted Dave Poe's as having the "best ribs" in Atlanta in the "Best of the Big A." In July 2009, Dave Poe's BBQ was invited to once again bring award winning barbecue to Washington as they catered lunch for the U.S. Senate. Dave and his staff received a warm reception in D.C. as the aroma of Georgia barbecue permeated throughout the U.S. Capitol.
