Intern at The Strand!

The Education Program at The Strand theatre is looking for High School interns to help assist with both the Student Works Festival and The Strand's involvement with West Side Elementary School's Drama Club program. This is a great way to learn what goes on behind the scenes in a theater and experience a variety of different career paths within the arts. Interns will be involved in stage managing shows, planning curriculum, developing marketing, and assisting the education program director. Interns will be able to set their own schedule with the program coordinator during after school hours.

Candidates must be organized, self motivated, responsible, and have a deep passion for the arts. Please e-mail Cassi Costoulas at cassi@earlsmithstrand.org for an application and more information.

Marketing/Public Relations Internship Program

In the highly competitive world of advertising, public relations, and marketing, the key to landing that critical job interview often lies in a recent graduate's experience as an intern.  The Strand offers college students hands-on, real-world experience in public relations, event promotions, and occasionally event planning and fundraising that will give graduates confidence and marketable skills for the business world. Interns have the opportunity to test their skills in writing, quote-gathering, fact-finding, pitching, and creating PR and marketing plans targeting specific demographic groups for various performing arts and community events hosted at The Strand. Student interns are encouraged to utilize new technology when possible and to share new ideas. Interns must be willing to implement ideas, as well as create them.

The duration of this internship is one semester (available all semesters: Fall, Spring, and Summer) and is unpaid. The Strand will work with students to ensure college credits are awarded for work if applicable at college. Requirements: Currently enrolled in a college program. Interns must be available for a minimum of two six-hour days per week (10 AM - 4 PM) or three half days a week for a total of 12 hours weekly. Must have taken at least one college-level writing class and be attentive with grammar and spelling. Must be creative. Must have a hunger for success. Must have a love of the arts.  It is preferred that  students who strive to work in at least one of the following fields apply: public relations, marketing, advertising, event planning, nonprofit administration, fundraising, recreation, business.

To inquire about an internship, an inquiry letter with a resume must be submitted to the attention of the Friends of The Strand, Christy Rosell, Director of Marketing, PO Box 4186, Marietta, GA 30061 by the dates below. Prospective interns are encouraged to use the inquiry letter to explain who they are, college program, future career goals, and why they should be chosen for The Strand Marketing/Public Relations internship.
